Installations
Many boilers are being installed using outdated methods of calculation and inaccurate 'rules of thumb' which unfortunately have a negative impact on the efficiency of a heating system.
A David Banfield Plumbing & Heating Ltd boiler installation is designed to your specific needs along with the adoption of low temperature heating principles to yield a range of benefits:
Appropriately sized boiler - oversizing a boiler increases purchase and running costs as well as cycling
Lower running costs - lower operating temperatures increases boiler efficiency thereby reducing gas usage
Quieter operation - reduces pipe expansion noises
Less stress on the system - reduced thermal expansion of seals and boiler components
Stable room temperatures - reduces temperature swings of over and under heating
Why choose a David Banfield Plumbing & Heating Ltd boiler installation?

Heat loss Surveys
Using the Heat Engineer App, heat loss surveys provide the information to design your heating system
Weather compensation
The lower the temperature your system can run at, the greater the efficiency your boiler will give. Using an external weather sensor to automatically adjust the temperature of the radiators allows them to give out the required amount of heat depending on the temperature outside
Priority domestic hot water (homes with hot water cylinders)
Hot water cylinders require higher flow temperatures to heat the water inside them to 60°C. Radiator circuits should now be designed for a maximum of 55°C. For this reason, it is important that the boiler knows whether it is heating your cylinder or heating your radiators and this is where PDHW can help. Chances are, your home will have a traditional out-dated 'S' or 'Y' plan system which only allows the boiler to operate at a fixed high temperature and possibly taking your condensing boiler out of condensing mode but with a PDHW design, boiler efficiency is optimised
Controls
Where possible, it is recommended that manufacturers own controls are fitted when installing a new boiler. They have been designed to work together to give optimum efficiency and comfort and to utilise the benefits of a modern modulating boiler
System water quality
The quality of the water within your heating system has a substantial effect on its efficiency and reliability. The number one cause of warranty calls is due to poorly cleansed systems, i.e. sludge. Rest assured, I take pride in ensuring all boiler installations are accompanied with a thorough powerflush (see power flush page)
